To Steki Tou Maki

Stumbled upon the fish/meat market while walking to a spa appointment and made sure to return after my appointment to explore further. Saw a row of restaurants and stumbled upon this gem because it was the BUSIEST place by far. You know it's a great place when you see locals sitting down having a meal, so I had to give it a try. There are not many seats, and I lucked out with a corner table to myself (it was probably around 2:00pm or a bit later when I arrived). I ordered the shrimp, fries and tzatziki and loved everything. The shrimp was SO fresh and delicious. I wish I had someone else with me so I could have tried more, LOL. Definitely recommend if you can get a seat!

Wonderful and authentic place to eat very fresh and very tasty fish and seafood! We had dorada, sardines and squid, with some sides and everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. Not only the staff was very friendly but also we had a great conversation with other guests of the place. It's one of these places where from outside you don't expect it to be THAT good. It exceeds expectations by a lot! We can highly recommend to anyone who wants to try seafood in Athens!

Listen up. This place is a gem. The owner dude is so hospitable. The food is as local and fresh as you can get. Like “you want fish? I go fetch”. And he literally goes to the fish market next door and buys it fresh. And cooks it. Over coals. Have the sardines, prawns and muscles. Or choose whatever. It’s all so good. And order the wine too. Only white. Served in a big jug. And you get a small tumbler glass to drink it from. Just like old Greek men do. It’s a vibe. ❤️

Wow go here for the atmosphere that is authentic and family-run. This has been in operation for over 40 years. The gentleman and his wife run the business, they are personable and real. We were looking for another shop but they were closed and this place had that small family business look that made me stop. The patrons highly recommended it and the menu was convenient so we stay and so glad we did. All food is fresh, not overly prepared so the fish are whole, delicious and grilled here, they can source what you need if the market is open. We had plenty of white wine and beer, great conversation with the owner and the regular patrons. This would be a place for greek uncles to eat casually with friends. Very small and unassuming, with real backyard feeling, like you are family. We genuinely enjoyed the food, the drink, and the hospitality of the owners.
